West Ham United double money to appoint Julen Lopetegui at London Stadium
West Ham have doubled their offer in an attempt to persuade Julen Lopetegui to replace David Moyes, according to Corriere della Sera.
The Italian news outlet reported on 1 May that Lopetegui is waiting for a sign from AC Milan to join after meetings with their CEO Giorgio Furlani and has shown appreciation for their offer.
However, the doubled offer from East London and voices of discontent from Milan’s fans about the possible appointment could throw a spanner in the works.
West Ham double offer to Julen Lopetegui
The managerial merry-go-round drama has well and truly begun at the London Stadium, despite no confirmation that Moyes will leave, although it is expected that he will depart when his contract expires at the end of the season.
Lopetegui has been one of the most heavily-linked managers with the role and it has been said that the Hammers are refusing to give up on the Spaniard despite his preference being to join Milan, as evidenced by the new offer made.
It has also been shared that talks with the Spaniard have been ongoing for months despite no decision being made over Moyes’ future, with David Sullivan keenly assessing his options ahead of the summer.

With the likes of Ruben Amorim linked to the job after a meeting with Sullivan, as well as Gary O’Neill and Graham Potter, there may yet be plenty of twists and turns about who will lead the team next season.
