West Ham United defender Ryan Fredericks completes his medical ahead of Bournemouth move
West Ham defender Ryan Fredericks is edging closer to leaving the London club, according to Sky Sports.
The 29-year-old is all set to join Bournemouth and has completed his medical, as reported by Sky Sports on their transfer live blog feed (22 June, 14:34 pm).
The right-back was deemed surplus to requirements at the London club, and he was expected to leave before the end of this month. It seems he has now found his new home.
The Cherries moved in quickly to sign him after they had agreed a deal with the 30-year-old.
The right-back is being released by the Hammers, so will join as a free agent.
The newly-promoted Premier League side are looking to bolster their squad, and they are set to sign someone who has got loads of experience.
The former Fulham defender joined the Hammers in 2018 and has made 77 appearances in all competitions.
His time at the club has been blighted by injuries and struggled to nail down a regular first-team place during his four-year stay.
Last season, he had a great chance to make a strong impact especially when both Vladimir Coufal and Ben Johnson got injured, but he was unimpressive.
He still managed 15 appearances in all competitions in the 2021-22 campaign. It’s the right move for his career, and the best thing is, he’ll be still playing in the Premier League.
