West Ham United: David Sullivan will consider Paulo Fonseca again as fresh David Moyes sack news emerges
David Sullivan is prepared to consider Paulo Fonseca again as a potential managerial option with David Moyes likely to leave West Ham, according to The Guardian.
The Guardian claim (19 April) the 50-year-old Lille boss is now in the frame to replace the Scot, with the board looking to make a change in the summer.
Fonseca was approached by Sullivan during West Ham’s search for Moyes’ successor five years ago when Manuel Pellegrini was given the job, but the chairman is ready to revisit the idea.

It’s also believed Graham Potter and Brendan Rodgers are likely to be considered by the board, if and when Moyes does depart.
Right time
If Moyes leaves the London Stadium having kept West Ham up, most of the fanbase will wish him well. He’s been heavily criticised this season, and rightly so. However, considering the stability and success he’s brought to the London Stadium, he’s probably deserving of the time he’s been given.
If he had been under a different board and didn’t have as much credit in the bank, he wouldn’t be in a job at present. A change should be made but it’s essential the board make the right appointment. Fonseca would be a stab in the dark. He’s never managed in the Premier League before and is enjoying an average season with the Ligue 1 side.

Potter or Rodgers would potentially be a safer route to go down. A British manager spearheading a new era for West Ham is exactly what the fans would want.
However, at present, it’s crucial the players and Moyes focus on the task at hand and drag West Ham away from the bottom three. They were excellent against Arsenal and will be looking for a repeat performance in Sunday’s fixture against Bournemouth.
