West Ham United could sign Tete in January as Shakthar Donetsk in final chance
West Ham United could sign Shakthar Donetsk attacking midfielder Tete in January with the Brazilian’s contract running out in 2023, according to Calciomercato.
Tete would be free to sign to any club come June 2023, which leaves the Ukrainian club with a tricky ultimatum, with the Irons finalising their notes on him.
The 22-year-old is currently on loan at Ligue 1 club Lyon but has lost his starting position since the arrival of new head coach Laurent Blanc.

“Shakhtar has only the next transfer window left to hope to monetize, given that starting in June the player will be free to sign for another club,” as quoted by Calciomercato.
The report also suggests that West Ham United would face stiff competition for Tete’s signature from AC Milan, Leicester City and Brighton.

Benrahma out?
If West Ham United made a move for the silky Brazilian it could mean the end of Said Benrahma’s time at the club or at least the minutes he gets on the pitch.
It never hurts bolstering your wide attacking options more but the arrival of Tete would leave little room for the Algerian to stake his claim in David Moyes’s first XI.
Jarrod Bowen has his spot in the Hammers squad signed and sealed so, unfortunately, that would leave Benrahma is the firing line in this one.
Benrahma has actually had decent spells this season but is far too inconsistent to be relied on heavily moving forward to further seasons.
Another wide man who has failed to live up to expectations is Maxwel Cornet and he looks like he’ll be doing little to nothing in a Claret and Blue shirt at the moment.
Adding 22-year-old Tete to the mix would spice things up for the Irons in attacking terms and maybe kick other frailing wingers at the club into action.
