West Ham United could make summer move for Azzedine Ounahi with Nayef Aguerd making recommendations

West Ham could reportedly move for Angers midfielder Azzedine Ounahi in the summer after his impressive World Cup for Morocco.

According to the ExWHUemployee, the Hammers are in talks with Nayef Aguerd over potential players they could move for either in January or the summer.

Angers have already accepted that the 22-year-old could leave the club when the window opens amid links to West Ham.

On the West Ham Way podcast, Ex said, “Speaking of Morocco, they got to the World Cup semi-finals. Aguerd plays for them so we’ve been talking to him about potential players that could be brought from there. One there’s a potential interest in a player called Azzedine Ounahi. I don’t think we’ll move for him in January.

Tricky

Ounahi is undoubtedly an exceptional midfielder who will improve this West Ham team massively playing along with Declan Rice.

However, after the World Cup, his stock is at an all-time high and there’s a very good chance that he’s sold in January itself.

If the Hammers wait until the summer they may no longer be able to sign him as he’ll have just have joined his new club a few months ago and will not be on the market.

West Ham have an important negotiating tool in Aguerd here and if they’re really keen on signing him, it’s time he goes and talks to the 22-year-old.

There’ll be at least a doze of top European clubs he can genuinely sign for in the coming weeks so it’s now a race against time.

Tomas Soucek clearly seems past it and he must be moved on at the earliest for someone like Ounahi.
