West Ham United could complete double deal for Gianluca Scamacca and Filip Kostic this weekend

West Ham United could now confirm the signing of Eintracht Frankfurt defender Filip Kostic as early as this weekend, according to the Daily Star.

The newspaper has reported in its print edition [23 July, pg. 49] that the Irons could make it a double transfer blitz with Gianluca Scamacca also on the verge of arriving.

Scamacca is much closer to a move with terms now agreed, but Kostic is also a target and is represented by the same agent as the Italian, Alessandro Lucci.

Writing in his latest snippet for the Daily Star, Matthew Dunne reported that not only one new name could be on the verge of making the move.

“Lucci also represents Filip Kostic, Eintracht Frankfurt’s Serbia left wing-back, another player West Ham have expressed interest in and could make it a double signing over the weekend,” he wrote.

“The incoming transfer news is particularly timely after an ankle injury to their other big-money signing Nayef Aguerd which could rule the Moroccan defender out of the start of the season.”

Here We Go.

West Ham United are not playing any games in this window.

GSBK have to be praised for their backing of David Moyes and Rob Newman, and their continued support even though some deals have started to prove difficult.

Armando Broja and Chelsea are the perfect examples where the deal looked as good as done before everything started to get messy and now Scamacca is set to be the new striker.

The Italian international is a real treasure, and the club have moved quickly to secure him ahead of the likes of Paris Saint-Germain, with basic wages and the fee said to be agreed.

As for Kostic, this would be a smart piece of business.

He has European as well as international experience, won the Europa League last season and would arrive in London as a real marquee buy, but not for a marquee price.

If this was to get done this weekend, there would be jubilation in east London.
