West Ham United could cash in on midfielder Declan Rice next summer
West Ham United have decided that they will cash in on Declan Rice next summer, as reported by Claret and Hugh.
The reliable Hammers source has suggested that the club may look to sell him to the highest bidder as they will try to get the maximum deal from the potential transfer.
Rice is loved by the fans, and he is the club’s skipper. But, the potential transfer “makes sense” as the Irons can look to rebuild the squad from his sale.
Rice has been a phenomenal player for the Hammers, and it will be really heartbreaking for the fans to see him leave the London Stadium after so many years.
The England midfielder has rejected a massive wage offer in the region of £200,000 per week from the club already. He is not driven by money.
Rice has stated many times that he wants to test himself at the highest level and want to win trophies. Given his outstanding contribution to the club, he deserves to play at an elite club.
He will probably commit his future to the club if the Hammers still can finish in the top four this season, but that looks very difficult at the moment.
David Moyes’s side has made a poor start and they are languishing close to the relegation zone. The manager’s position is under threat, and it will require a major upturn in form to get into the Champions League spot.
West Ham are well secured with Rice’s contract terms, and thus they would be able to secure the club-record transfer fee from his sale.
