West Ham United could be offered Luca Pellegrini in swap deal for Jarrod Bowen

West Ham United winger Jarrod Bowen is attracting interest from Serie A giants Juventus, according to Italian media outlet Calcio Mercato Web.

The 25-year-old enjoyed a sensational 2021-22 season at the London Stadium with 17 goals and 13 assists in all competitions and is understandably catching the eye of some of Europe’s top clubs as a result.

The Hammers themselves have been linked with a move for Juve’s left-back Luca Pellegrini this summer [Gazzetta Dello Sport, 19 June] with the Old Lady keen to garner at least £8.6million for the 23-year-old.

There is now hope in Turin that the Italian can be used as a paperweight in the deal to sign Bowen and a player plus money swap deal could be offered to David Moyes.

Fulham also have a keen interest in Pellegrini but they would have to pay outright to sign him with no player at Craven Cottage catching the eye of Juventus.

No chance

If Juventus want to discuss a swap deal to allow Pellegrini to leave Turin then they are more than welcome but not if they’re going to target our main man.

There is no universe in which a rarely-used left-back can be an adequate asset to a deal for a man who was in scintillating form last season.

West Ham

He even earned his first England call-up and cap due to his prowess in front of goal so we would need a very large sum of cash to let him leave this summer, which Juventus can’t afford.

We should still be in talks to sign Pellegrini because we could do with another left-back to compete with Aaron Cresswell even if we have to upset the Italians with a flat-out rejection of their Bowen approach.

As we head into our second season of European football, we are no longer a club that can be pushed around in the transfer market and the rest of Europe had better be ready for a ruthless West Ham.
