West Ham United contract sorted for Lukasz Fabianski, Alphonse Areola a work in progress
West Ham United have extended the contract of goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski for another 12 months, according to Claret and Hugh.
The London Stadium insiders believe the Polish international’s future with the Hammers is at least one more year as the 37-year-old played all but one of the club’s Premier League games this season.
There is also some debate over whether current backup shot-stopper Alphonse Areola will remain with the Hammers for the 2022-23 season and beyond with his loan from Paris Saint-Germain ending next month.

Claret and Hugh have been told by one of their sources that a deal for the French international is still very much a “work in progress” but the club are trying to make his switch to England a permanent one this summer.
Areola played almost all of the club’s cup games in both Europe and domestic competitions which saw the Hammers reach the semi-finals of the Europa League as well as ruffle some feathers in England too.
Continuity
The combination of Fabianski and Areola has brought about plenty of success for Moyes and the Irons this season even if we’ve got all the way to May without a trophy to show for it.
Even Fabianski himself probably knows that his time at the top is slowly coming to an end but he should have one more year in him which is all we need to slowly bleed Areola in for the Premier League games too.

Towards the end of the 2022-23 season, the Frenchman should be our undisputed number one which will allow the Pole to head off into the sunset without causing too much of a disruption to the whole team dynamic.
Before we can think about that though, we need to get Areola’s pen down on the paper too so Moyes can almost ignore his goalkeepers and focus on improving the outfield players so they have less to do in games.
In other West Ham news, a whopping £228million worth of revenue could be incoming for the Hammers after a highly successful season on and off the field.
