ExWHUemployee: West Ham United need to move fast to sign Marcos Senesi

West Ham United are “considering” a move for Argentine defender Marcos Senesi as per ExWHUemployee.

The reliable Hammers source wrote on his Patreon on 5 August that the Hammers could make a serious attempt to sign the “highly-rated” defender if they fail to land Attila Szalai.

The Hammers need to “move fast” as new-comer AFC Bournemouth appear to be closing on the deal.

Another defender?

Italian media outlet Tutto Mercato Web reported on 5 August that the Hammers have launched a bid worth £12.6million to sign the Feyenoord defender.

A host of Italian clubs including Roma, Napoli and Fiorentina are also in the hunt to sign the Argentine who was one of the key players for the Dutch side as they reached the finals of the Europa Conference League.

West Ham have added depth in their defensive ranks by adding Nayef Aguerd, but his injury may have forced the club to look for another centre-back.

David Moyes still has the likes of Kurt Zouma and Craig Dawson as options, while Issa Diop still remains.

If the Hammers managed to get a deal done for Senesi, surely it will pave the way for Diop’s departure, with the Frenchman being chased by London rivals Fulham.

It seems Senesi is not the first choice option for Moyes, but the Hammers are ready to take him on board if they fail to land their other major target, Szalai.
