West Ham United consider bid for Sean Moore, unlikely to be done before 11pm deadline on Tuesday
West Ham are considering submitting a last-gasp bid to sign promising Northern Ireland teenager Sean Moore, according to football.london.
The 17-year-old is a versatile midfielder who can play both as a winger on either side and as a full-back.
A bid of £250,000 is being considered, but doubts remain whether the Hammers can complete the transfer before the window closes at 11 pm on Tuesday (today), rather they could consider a move for the youngster in the summer window.
One more signing?
The Hammers have bolstered their forward department in January by signing Danny Ings from Aston Villa this month.
They are unlikely to see Michail Antonio unless there’s a big offer for him.
David Moyes ideally would have liked to add one or two more players, but the time is very short.
The Sun (31 January) reports that the Hammers are showing keen interest in Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips on loan, but that deal looks unlikely.
A partnership of Declan Rice and Phillips in midfielder would have been perfect for West Ham’s revival, but the report looks wide of the mark at the moment.
Of course, there are still some more than eight hours remaining, and strange things have happened in the transfer market.
There are many players who are looking to move elsewhere or the club ready to ship them out. So, it can well happen that the Hammers might add one more player to their squad before the 11pm deadline.
