West Ham United: Club Brugge midfielder Hans Vanaken looks to force move to the Premier League
Hans Vanaken’s advisors are trying to convince the Club Brugge management to sanction the midfielder’s move to West Ham United according to journalist Sacha Tavolieri.
The RMC journalist revealed (via Twitter, 18 August) that the Jupiler League side has refused one offer from West Ham for the 29-year-old.
It’s understood that Vanaken views a move to the London Stadium as his last chance to play in the Premier League and that he is pushing to move to the Hammers this summer.
Is he what West Ham need?
Is a 29-year-old attacking midfielder what West Ham need at the moment?
The answer is probably not, with a left-back and central midfielder probably of a more pressing concern for David Moyes.
However, if Vanaken is actively pushing for a move away from the Jupiler League side then he could be a move that the club should push forward with.
Club Brugge have made their stance clear on the 29-year-old, with the Belgium club reluctant to let him depart.
However, if he doesn’t want to be part of their plans going forward, then Brugge may be inclined to sell the midfielder for less than they were originally asking for.
The Irons have struggled for goals in their opening Premier League matches, despite peppering Nottingham Forest’s goal at the weekend.
If Moyes can still land a left-back and central defender within his budget, the Vanaken could be the player the West Ham boss looks to for goals from midfield.
