West Ham United briefly recall Joseph Anang from Derby County amid injury recovery
Goalkeeper Joseph Anang has returned to West Ham United as he continues to recover from an injury, Derby manager Paul Warne has confirmed.
The 22-year-old is yet to make his debut for the Rams after signing on loan for the season in the summer with a series of injuries causing problems for him.
The Hammers have decided to temporarily bring him back to Rush Green in order for him to be at 100 per cent when he goes back to the League One club.

“He’s on the last stage of his recovery,” Warne said, as quoted by Derbyshire Live. “West Ham have pulled him back for two weeks to assess him. He is a big part of their football club.
“Respectfully, we have to go with what they want. He isn’t in a state to play. He’s been doing a lot of ball work which has been predominantly feet.”
Terminate
If the opportunity to end the loan deal is written into the contract then West Ham could do with pulling that particular trigger and getting him to a different club.
He has been available for some games and the Rams are not selecting him to start which makes the loan completely useless to him at this stage in his career.

Even if it means he has to drop down to League Two or move abroad somewhere, he needs to be playing week in, week out when he is fit and he won’t get that at Derby.
His future as a West Ham player hangs in the balance right now because he has not impressed enough to warrant a long extension of his contract from David Moyes.
There is a very high bar for goalkeepers to make it in the Premier League and if a player can’t force his way into a League One team then he holds no hope of a top-division debut.
