West Ham United bid update emerges on Manchester United and Chelsea target Edson Alvarez

West Ham United are reportedly stepping up their interest in Ajax midfielder Edson Alvarez who’s also wanted by Manchester United and Chelsea.

According to the Sun [14 July], a bid for the Mexico international will be made right after the Arsenal deal for Declan Rice goes through which is expected to be by this weekend.

It’s understood that Manchester United, Chelsea, and Borussia Dortmund are also in the hunt to sign the midfielder valued between £35million and £40million.

Sign him

Ajax are willing to do a deal that’s why there’s a valuation for him and that’s not something beyond the Hammers’ reach.

Rice’s sale is certainly going to bring in plenty of funds and all of it is likely to go back into strengthening the squad.

Manchester United and Chelsea have been mentioned but their interest does not seem as genuine so the Hammers do not have much to worry about.

Contact’s been initiated already and they’re doing the groundwork before they launch a move so that’s the right way to go about things.

Whether or not the Hammers will reach that valuation, remains to be seen, but he does look to be a player Moyes wants to replace Rice.

Hopefully, this deal gets over the line and then look at someone like Joao Palhinha who’s been impressing a great deal at Fulham.

In other West Ham news, an injury expert has claimed that Moyes’ physical demands could see another star player seek a London Stadium exit this summer.
