West Ham United: Arnaut Danjuma agent unleashes on talkSPORT reporter amid transfer saga
The rapidly developing transfer saga involving West Ham United and Villareal winger Arnaut Danjuma has taken another twist.
The 25-year-old former Bournemouth player had been approached by the Hammers to come to the London Stadium in a £34million deal but West Ham quickly withdrew that approach [90min].
Alex Crook then spoke live on talkSPORT about why the transfer was going to be such a troublesome one to complete, saying “Moyes, at the moment, is not keen on this deal. There are doubts about Danjuma’s temperament and how hard he works off the ball.”
Those comments angered the Dutch international’s agent, Michael-Moses Jarman, who responded to Crook on Twitter only hours later.
“That’s a 2nd time you’ve been actively talking about my player’s “temperament”…you know nothing of his character, relax,” he said.
The chances of a deal being struck are not completely out of the window but it could be some time before a final decision comes to light.
Good to see
Jarman is absolutely right to stand by his client when he is getting unfair and uneducated criticism in the public domain and we need to see more of it.
Pundits and reporters have been able to tear into anybody they have wanted to for far too long without a significant person in the football landscape snapping back at them.
They all know how to deal with disgruntled fans on Twitter by now but having someone who is well engraved into the modern football world go at them is a whole different kettle of fish.
If Danjuma does come and sign for West Ham then we could do with Jarman’s no backing down mentality to come with it as well, even if Moyes brings him in for a psychological coaching session once in a blue moon.
If the Dutchman is even half as feisty as his agent is on the pitch, then there won’t be much in the way of criticism about his work rate come the start of the Premier League season.
