Ally McCoist was stunned by West Ham after their "terrible" performance in the 5-2 defeat to Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park, labelling them "all over the place".

The former Rangers man shared his view that the team was suffering from a hangover after being knocked out of the Europa League by Bayer Leverkusen on 18 April.

He also gave credit to Palace for their impressive performance but insisted that the Hammers, especially in the first 30 minutes of the game which saw them fall 4-0 down, were awful.

Speaking live on talkSPORT [22 April, 06:35], McCoist shared: "Having watched the highlights, I think they looked absolutely all over the place in the opening half an hour. They looked like a team with a serious hangover from Europe, it was a terrible performance.

McCoist could not believe the performance from the Hammers, and his views likely echo those of Hammers fans across the globe after what was a terrible display against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

Even with the two goals, there are almost no positives to be taken from the performance as David Moyes' side, to a man, failed to impress or to make their mark on the game as they were dominated from start to finish to make it back-to-back Premier League defeats.

With the first 30 minutes highlighted as a particular issue by McCoist, it was in that period that Palace wrapped up their victory as Jean-Philippe Mateta put his side four goals ahead in the 31st minute of the game after goals from Michail Olise and Ebere Eze as well as an own goal by Emerson.

With a visit from Liverpool next on the agenda and Jurgen Klopp's side looking to keep up in their race for the Premier League title, things could go from bad to worse for the Hammers with things beginning to look bleak.
