West Ham United: Alan Brazil fumes at ‘strange’ Tottenham decision live on talkSPORT
Alan Brazil has questioned Ange Postecoglou’s decision to take James Maddison off against West Ham as he and Ally McCoist agreed the 1-1 result was fair.
Brazil insisted he could not understand why Maddison was taken off after his performance in the game to that point, but conceded a draw was probably the correct result.
McCoist, meanwhile, insisted he enjoyed the game and the result was fair, but echoed the questions about Postecoglou’s decision-making.
Speaking live on talkSPORT [3 April, 06:15] Brazil questioned: “Last night was probably fair, wasn’t it? But with the greatest respect, why did Big Ange take Maddison off? I didn’t understand that one.”
McCoist then shared: “It was a strange one, wasn’t it? I thought it [the result] was probably about fair, West Ham had a couple of chances as well but I thought it was a reasonable enough game, I enjoyed it.”

Postecoglou’s decision to withdraw Maddison from the game raised questions, bringing on Dejan Kulusevski in his place after 70 minutes in a clear attempt to catch West Ham out, although the call failed to pay off.
Ultimately, though, it didn’t matter to David Moyes’ side. Their performance was well worth the point despite plenty of pressure from Tottenham as they held on to the result thanks to a goal from captain Kurt Zouma.
Zouma has come in for some criticism in recent weeks, but a crucial equalising goal in one of the biggest games of the season for the West Ham supporters will win him some favour back at the London Stadium.

The point sees the Hammers take one more step towards European qualification, whether it be for the Europa League or the Conference League where Moyes has been so successful, but they must hold on to a good spell of form if they want to make certain of their position.
