West Ham United ace Manuel Lanzini expected to follow Declan Rice out of door in transfer window
Declan Rice may not be the only West Ham midfield departure this season with Manuel Lanzini also expected to follow him out of the door.
According to TNT Sports [23 May], the Argentine has failed to reach a contract agreement with the Hammers and is now in the final weeks of his time at the London Stadium.
It’s reported that he’s already said his goodbyes to the West Ham fans and it now seems like he’s played his final game for the club at home.
There’s a good chance that David Moyes starts him over the weekend at the King Power Stadium against Leicester City on Sunday, 28 May.
While the Foxes desperately need a win to stay in the Premier League, West Ham have nothing to play for so it could be the ideal opportunity for Moyes to give certain players a start.
Rice is guaranteed to start as it will perhaps be his final game for the club and Lanzini too needs to be given that proper send-off.
He’s been one of the unsung heroes for the club and only the hardcore fans will truly appreciate what he’s brought to this side.
The 30-year-old has worked tirelessly and played in numerous positions and his attitude has seldom been questioned even when he’s not been a first-team regular for the club.
It’s going to be a big overhaul of the first-team squad this summer and it remains to be seen if Moyes is the one in charge to oversee it all.
