West Ham told the price to sign Sam Johnstone from West Brom – report

West Brom have named their price for Sam Johnstone with West Ham United interested in the keeper, according to the Evening Standard.

The online outlet have reported that the Baggies would demand £10million for the England international should they drop out of the Premier League.

Spurs are also interested in the keeper, but David Moyes also has some other priorities at the London Stadium with European football possible.

West Brom

Moyes is prioritising two other positions over the summer.

The clear area is the final third, and the Irons want another striker to help Michail Antonio and that option currently looks like Sevilla’s Youssef En-Nesyri.

European football is likely, and if so, the Hammers want more cover in midfield alongside the likes of Mark Noble on the bench.

It isn’t made clear whether Jesse Lingard would be that player, with his role more attacking since arriving at the London Stadium.

West Ham

Gary Lineker has been blown away by the Baggies stopper this season and has labelled his antics as “sensational” already.

Johnstone was phenomenal against his former side Manchester United and pulled off one incredible stop at the end of the 1-1 draw.

Lukasz Fabianski is currently number one and has signed a contract for one more year, with his understudies not cutting the bill.

Darren Randolph and David Martin aren’t exactly inspiring options, and we would love Johnstone to take one of their spots; he has proved himself massively this season.

For £10million too, it would be a steal for an international who has faced the most shots this season [WyScout]; he knows what it feels like to be under pressure.
