West Ham to sign PSG star Alphonse Areola on a permanent deal - report
West Ham United are poised to make Alphonse Areola’s loan deal from PSG a permanent agreement according to Italian Journalist Gianluca Di Marzio.
As reported on Thursday [18 May], the Hammers are prepared to exercise the 29-year-old’s option to buy clause. The PSG keeper is believed to be available for £10million as first reported by the Daily Mail on [10 May].
Areola has been back up to Łukasz Fabiański this season but was the Hammers’ number one in their Europa League run to the semi-final.
New number one?
Areola should certainly be in contention for the Hammers’ number one shirt next season.
The Frenchmen has put some impressive performances in the Europa League, particularly in the Irons home match against Lyon.

Fabianski has been a great servant to West Ham and has been an instrumental part of their success in recent years.
However, at 37 the keeper is reaching the end of his career, which makes a move for Areola look sensible.
The signing of the keeper will hopefully kickstart a busy summer for David Moyes.
The Hammers can still qualify for the Europa League if Crystal Palace beat Manchester United and the Irons beat Brighton at the Amex on Sunday [22 May].
Europa League qualification will provide Moyes with a basis to draw a higher calibre of player to the London Stadium with this summer’s transfer window crucial for the Irons to continue their upward trajectory.
Hopefully, this move for Areola starts a busy summer for the Hammers
