Potter has been sounded as his potential successor [Sean Whetstsone] and the update from Steinberg [8 January] claims an agreement is in place for him to take over.

Graham Potter set to take charge at West Ham

Lopetegui’s sacking has been coming for several weeks now and it appears that Wednesday will be the day that ends his nightmare at the London Stadium.

Since his appointment, the Irons have seen a massive regression and the club have appeared to be going in one direction only, backwards.

With Potter reportedly set to take charge, the Hammers should be in safe hands and supporters can look forward to an exciting style of football and perhaps most importantly, an effective style of football that should provide West Ham with the necessary tools to progress as a club.

Potter is the type of manager capable of unlocking the true potential of several Irons players who have been restricted by the dull management of Lopetegui.

An announcement is expected by the club in the coming hours to end the nightmare once and for all and fans can start to look towards the future.
