West Ham to kickstart transfers with Patrick Kelly and Nayef Aguerd medicals imminent

West Ham United are surely set to get their summer transfer business underway with medicals scheduled for Nayef Aguerd and Patrick Kelly.

The Daily Mail revealed via their print edition on 12 June (page 144) that West Ham are finalising terms over a £25million transfer for the 26-year-old Moroccan international Aguerd.

Furthermore, ExWHUemployee revealed on his Patreon page on Saturday 11 June, that a medical has been scheduled for Rennes centre back in the coming days.

The Hammers have also progressed in their move for Coleraine’s 17-year-old midfielder Patrick Kelly, with Belfast Live claiming on 10 June that a medical is to be completed before 20 June.

West Ham fans will be hoping the imminent signings will kickstart their summer business in what promises to be a huge couple of months for David Moyes as he looks to overhaul his squad.

There is no denying that the Irons need a squad refresh this summer.

They’ve got plenty of players who are entering the latter stages of their careers and Moyes desperately needs to improve his squad if he wants to maintain the upward trajectory at the London Stadium.

West Ham fans won’t accept anything less than regularly contending for the Europa League places in the coming seasons after narrowly missing out on sixth spot in the 2021/22 season.

Failure to invest this summer will be an insult to the players and fans of the club.

Declan Rice and Jarrod Bowen will want to be playing Champions League football and if the Irons don’t have a busy summer bringing in top-quality talent then their futures will begin to fall into serious doubt.

These two signings are a good start, but more definitely needs to be done.

In other West Ham news, one of the club’s academy graduates is going to stay at the club for at least another year despite ongoing rumours surrounding his future.
