West Ham to always have club physio with Antonio on Jamaica trips

West Ham United’s head of medical services Richard Collinge was with Michail Antonio during last month’s international games, according to The Sun.

David Moyes sent his top doctor with the 31-year-old striker to the Caribbean Island in order to regularly monitor his hamstrings, and he has plans to continue doing so.

The Hammers are not leaving anything to chance given Antonio’s injury history, and are ready to go the extra length by having their physio with him anytime he leaves Europe for international duty with Jamaica.

West Ham

Huge

The West Ham forward is arguably the club’s most important player at the moment given how they struggle in attack when he is missing, and keeping him fit is of utmost priority.

Antonio missed 13 games while out injured last term, and was unavailable for 15 games in 2019-20 as a result of his frequent knocks [Transfer Market].

Things have looked better thus far in 2021-22 as he has only missed a game – through suspension.

West Ham

While the player himself is doing all he can to keep his hamstrings in prime condition, West Ham are prepared to go to any length to keep their talisman fit, and flying a personal medic halfway around the world just to keep a close eye on his legs speaks volumes.

With five goals and three assists in seven Premier League appearances this term, Antonio has been flying, and if he maintains his form, and most importantly, fitness, the Hammers could be challenging strongly for a top-four finish again.

In other West Ham news, Jack Wilshere has predicted major Hammers exit, but reckons one goal would stop it.
