West Ham target Wout Weghorst now follows club on Instagram

West Ham are still keen on signing Wolfsburg striker Wout Weghorst, according to reliable insider ExWHUemployee.

Via his Patreon page, he claimed that the Dutchman is still a definitive target for the Hammers, having been linked with them over the summer.

Weghorst, who is 6 ft 6 and a full Dutch international, has now started following the club on Instagram as well.

ExWHUemployee wrote, “An interesting development on Instagram is that a definite target of ours has started following West Ham, as well as Seb Haller.

“Wout Weghorst is a 6 foot 6 Dutch International forward currently playing in Germany for Wolfsburg. He has a great scoring record in the Dutch and German league.”

Looking for a move?

According to Italian news outlet Calciomercato, the Hammers were keen on signing him back in June.

However a move for the 29-year-old did not materialise and neither did it for any striker, with the club still looking for one.

While West Ham would welcome an international striker, arguably at the peak of his powers, they may take a while to ponder whether he would be the right fit.

Having been labelled “incredible” by German football expert Stefan Bienkowski, there certainly is something to get excited about links with him.

However, he’s close to 30 and is not the most mobile of forwards, meaning West Ham may have to carry a passenger when they don’t have possession.

He can offer a potent aerial threat so that explains why David Moyes would like having him.

It remains to be seen how this one transpires.
