West Ham target Rochdale starlet Kwadwo Baah for summer move – report

Rochdale starlet Kwadwo Baah is reported to be a transfer target for West Ham United this summer.

The 18-year-old winger has five goal involvements in 15 starts for The Dale in League One this season. He was close to agreeing a move to Manchester City, but the Telegraph has reported it collapsed at the medical stage of the deal.

Now, according to Football League World, the London Stadium has emerged as a potential destination for the youngster. They are reporting that West Ham want to hold discussions with Baah ahead of a possible transfer. His deal is said to expire at Spotland in the next three months, so he is highly likely to move this summer.

The Englishman has made 30 league appearances for his club this season and is tipped for big things. He came through the youth ranks with Crystal Palace before moving to Manor Farm to continue his development.

Bags of potential

The youngster has been turning heads in League One this season as his Rochdale side battle relegation. They’re currently rock bottom of the division, collecting 28 points from their 34 matches played.

Baah has started 15 league matches, deployed most often as a left-winger. His stand-out performance came in a 4-4 draw at The Valley with Charlton, in which the youngster scored two stunning first-half goals.

He’s a tricky, pacey winger with two good feet. As well as playing on the wing, Dale boss Brian Barry-Murphy has also used him on the right and as a wing-back. He’s versatile which would suit him well in the David Moyes system, who likes to switch between a back three and a back four.

Overall he has registered three goals and two assists in his 30 league appearances. According to WyScout, he has completed 80.9% of passes and has been successful with 54.5% of his attempted dribbles. Not bad stats for a teenager.

It’s exciting to hear us linked with more young and hungry talent. Moyes has foreseen a complete overhaul of the transfer system at the club since his return. The club now aims to bring in players that want to work hard and prove themselves.

The new methods are working excellently so far. Players such as Tomas Soucek, Jarrod Bowen and Jesse Lingard and Craig Dawson are all working hard week in week out. Long may it continue.
