West Ham takeover news: Lawyers in talks over wealthy American deal
West Ham United could potentially have new owners soon, as talks have started for shares at the London Stadium.
David Sullivan is the majority shareholder, with a 38.8 per cent stake in the Hammers, and the Family Trust, on behalf of Vanessa Gold, owns 25.1 per cent.
The Irons aren’t having the best of seasons, with Graham Potter’s team struggling in the Premier League, sitting 17th in the table.
There’s arguably a need for some fresh investment at the East London outfit, and fans may see a new face arrive soon.

Sullivan needs to invest at London Stadium in summer transfer window
Potter replaced Julen Lopetegui midway through the season, but the English manager hasn’t been able to turn the tide at the Hammers.
The London Stadium faithful are growing wary of the ex-Chelsea boss, and it’s only a matter of time before questions are asked about his future.
Despite spending significant money last summer, the Irons don’t have a quality squad to show for it.
Aaron Cresswell will leave West Ham along with Łukasz Fabiański, Vladimir Coufal and Danny Ings at the end of the season, and a squad overhaul is arguably necessary.
While Potter has improved the performances at the East London outfit, the results haven’t, and that’ll need to change next season if he wants to carry on.
It will be interesting to see how much money Sullivan will be willing to spend in the upcoming transfer window after last summer’s poor showing, with Aaron Wan-Bissaka arguably the only successful signing.
The new investment could potentially give the Irons a financial boost in the coming months, but it remains to be seen whether a deal can be made.
