West Ham still keen on signing Luca Pellegrini

West Ham still want to sign Juventus player Luca Pellegrini and have tried several times to secure his signature.

Calciomercato report that the 22-year-old is a “hostage” to the bench and is “certain” to depart the Old Lady in January, which should trigger the Irons’ interest again.

The Hammers tried to sign the player in summer, but he turned them down to fight for his place, but he has only played 58 minutes all season [Il Bianconero].

This surely means that his time in Turin, at least in the short term, is close to an end.

West Ham to get their man?

Pellegrini is a left-back but can play anywhere along the left, so if the Irons were to sign him, they would be getting someone who is very versatile.

This could be very helpful for David Moyes’ side as the Hammers could well be competing on four fronts by the time the January transfer window opens.

You can’t really blame Pellegrini for initially turning the move down and trying to fight for his place.

In fact, that shows that he probably has the right character to play for this Hammers side, but he must now realise that his future is away from Juventus and could be at the London Stadium.

Certainly, this is a transfer that we should keep an eye on when the January window opens in a couple of months.

Pellegrini could and should be a relatively easy signing for the Irons to complete, and we would be surprised if he doesn’t end up in east London for the second half of the season and beyond.
