Max Rushden reacts to Michail Antonio's goal for Jamaica
Max Rushden has shared his reaction to West Ham striker Michail Antonio’s stunning goal for Jamaica.
Antonio scored a 30-yard out screamer against the US on Tuesday night.
The 31-year-old restored parity in the 22nd-minute in Kingston as Jamaica drew 1-1 against the US in the World Cup qualifier.
Rushden has enjoyed the goal from Antonio. But he seems to have enjoyed the follow-up reaction to the goal as well.
He wrote on Twitter: “Great hit from Antonio, but the follow up is absolutely glorious.”
As you can see in the clip after Antonio scored a cracking long-range effort, Lamar Walker tried to blast it into the net as part of the celebration. He failed horribly, failing to connect with the ball, and tumbled over.
Premier League focus
Antonio has been outstanding this season for the Hammers.
He has scored seven goals and provided four assists in all competitions for David Moyes’s side this season, and has been enjoying a rich vein of form.
Given his poor injury record, many thought that sending him away on international duty might not be a good idea, keeping in mind West Ham have got some crucial games coming up.
However, he hasn’t picked up any injury and could return to training as early as Thursday after David Sullivan sent him a private jet.
West Ham are flying at the moment. We’re third on the table after beating Liverpool, and the confidence in the dressing room is sky-high.
We have to keep the momentum going, and Antonio is expected to play a key part. The Hammers face Wolves on Sunday at Molineux.
