West Ham star Michail Antonio could play against Dinamo Zagreb
West Ham star Michail Antonio could be involved against Dinamo Zagreb, according to David Moyes.
Speaking in his pre-match press conference, the Scotsman was asked about the 31-year-old, and it appears as if he could play on Thursday [West Ham’s official website].
This despite the fact Moyes admitted that Antonio would need a rest in certain games [West Ham’s official website].
However, with the forward banned for the Hammers’ game against Manchester United on Sunday, it appears as if Antonio could play.
He said: “We’ll always try and look after Mich at the right times, but we’d always try to consider being as strong as we possibly can.
“He might’ve been someone we would consider leaving out, but with the situation, we’re in, Mich’s in the same kind of consideration as every player.”
Moyes to play Antonio?
This season, the Hammers forward has been in sublime form and has scored four goals and provided three assists in his first four games.
So, it is no wonder that Moyes is considering starting Antonio, especially because he is banned for the match on Sunday.
If the Irons played the 31-year-old, you would think that they would have a much better chance of beating Dinamo than if he were to be rested.
Remember, this is a player who has been described as “fantastic” by Paolo Di Canio, so he could be a serious threat to the Croatian side [West Ham’s official website].
However, given last season’s injury record, you would think the Irons need to be careful with him because they don’t have another striker.
Despite this, though, we would be surprised if the Hammers didn’t start the striker on Thursday.
