West Ham star Jarrod Bowen could move to Liverpool says Jonathan Woodgate
Jarrod Bowen could make the move from West Ham to Liverpool, potentially even this month, according to Jonathan Woodgate.
The Hammers star has been in superb form of late, scoring three goals in his last two games, and has reportedly been interesting Jurgen Klopp’s Reds (Liverpool Echo).
And the former Anfield scout Woodgate thinks the chance to enhance his international prospects might convince the English attacker to make a move.
Speaking on talkSPORT on Thursday, as quoted by The Liverpool Echo, the former Leeds United and Real Madrid defender said: “He’d fit into the Liverpool system. He’s good enough. He’s improved every step that he has made.
“We’re talking about England – he would get that pressure. Can West Ham keep hold of him, even this month? Money talks.”
The prospect of the former Hull City forward exiting the London Stadium while he is performing so well will not please Irons fans but with the player in such form during a transfer window it is inevitable that big clubs will take notice.
Liverpool are currently without their star attacking men Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah at the Africa Cup of Nations and drew a blank without them against Arsenal in the Carabao Cup last night.
Facing the prospect of a damaging few weeks in front of goal without their two main men, Klopp could be tempted to bring forward his interest in West Ham’s current main threat.
Bowen has not just been registering on the score sheet himself of late, as he also has three assists in his last six games, and also hit the goal frame twice against Norwich as well as having a third goal ruled out by VAR for an offside from Nikola Vlasic.
David Moyes will be loath to lose him at all, but especially this month, as he is also missing Said Benrahma, away with Algeria.
In other West Ham news, the club are reportedly ready to make an offer for this £83.5m release clause man.
