West Ham should move for Aaron Hickey with Bologna keen to cash in on defender
Bologna are prepared to cash in on 20-year-old West Ham target Aaron Hickey and David Moyes should seriously consider a move for the four-time Scotland international.
It has been revealed by 90min on Wednesday 15 June that the Serie A are ready to listen to “adequate offers” for the left-back who notched five goals and one assist for Bologna in the 2021/22 campaign.
The Sun claimed on 8 June that the Hammers were eying a move for Hickey and were set to battle Arsenal for his signature.
However, 90min have suggested that Brentford are set to make an official bid for the 20-year-old.
With David Moyes looking to strengthen his squad this summer, left-back is a position that he has to be prioritising and Hickey would be a progressive and long-term signing.
Aaron Cresswell has been an excellent servant for the Irons over a number of years but his performances towards the end of last season displayed that he is only declining from now on.
Cresswell’s poor decision-making in the Europa League cost West Ham dearly.
With Cresswell turning 33 this year and his contract expiring in the summer of 2023, Moyes has to start considering new options to replace the veteran at left-back.

With Hickey entering the final two years of his contract and Bologna willing to let the Scotland international leave then surely it is a no-brainer for Moyes?
He is a modern full-back with plenty of potential and experience for such a young age and the fact that Brentford are stepping up their interest should be a sign that Hickey is a top talent.
The Bees rarely sign players who fail to impress and Hickey would be no different.
Moyes has to keep tabs on this one.
