West Ham set £70m asking price as Man United and Chelsea eye summer Rice deals – report
West Ham United have set Declan Rice’s price tag at an eye-watering £70million, amid interest from Manchester United and Chelsea.
According to a report from ESPN, Man United will retain their interest and revisit the situation in the summer.
The report claims that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are aware that Chelsea remain favourites, but they are certainly not ending their interest just yet.
Rice looks set to stay at the London Stadium this month, but rumours about his future do not appear to be going anywhere anytime soon.
ESPN add that Rice is very much aware of the rising interest in his services coming from Manchester.
A summer battle inevitable
Rice’s Premier League form this season has been too good to be ignored by the top teams in the division.
He has developed an incredible partnership with Tomas Soucek and under David Moyes, he is proving himself to be one of the best in his position throughout the entire league.
According to Wyscout, he has played the fourth-highest total number of progressive passes (152) in the Premier League this season.
Rice’s positive nature on the ball is reflective when looking at his passes figures – per 90 minutes he averages 12 forward passes in the Premier League, double the amount of backwards passes he makes.
Boasting a passing accuracy of nearly 90 per cent per 90 minutes, it is going to be hard for the Irons to ignore interest from the Premier League’s top teams for long, as Rice continues to catch the eye.
