West Ham sensation Armstrong Okoflex likely to be loaned out despite making pre-season squad
West Ham are reportedly likely to allow young attacking midfielder Armstrong Okoflex to leave on loan this summer.
According to The Athletic, the 20-year-old has travelled to Scotland with the pre-season squad but is still likely to be shown the door in the coming weeks.
The ‘Exciting’ sensation was kept at the club despite interest in January, but the Hammers now appear to have changed their stance.
Chance to impress
While the plans are to loan him out, Okoflex will be given a chance to train with the first-team squad and impress David Moyes ahead of the new season.
If he does well against high quality opponents then there’s a good chance that Moyes may want to keep him around the senior team for the coming season.
He will surely benefit from playing more games out on loan, but playing in the Premier League is an entirely different ball game.
He’s not at that level yet but if he does prove his worth in pre season and manages to show that he’s a team player willing to fight it out every week, there’s a good chance that the club change their stance.
He is one of the most talented young players at West Ham and there’s a certain amount of excitement to see him in the pre-season matches.
We will be keeping a close eye on him and monitoring all the clubs that are showing an interest in him.
While we would love to see him stay put in the Premier League, he’s likelier to play Championship football next season.
