West Ham scout Middlesbrough defender Isaiah Jones

West Ham have reportedly scouted Middlesbrough right wing-back Isaiah Jones who is also on the radar of some of Europe’s big clubs.

According to TEAMtalk, the Hammers are not the only London club keen on securing his services, with Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur also vying for his services.

The 22-year-old was scouted by West Ham this year and they will have to fend off interest from the likes of Atletico Madrid, Ajax, RB Leipzig, Lyon as well as Roma if they are to complete his signing.

Worth it?

Jones is viewed as a versatile attacking full-back who’s capable of playing in a plethora of positions.

He would give David Moyes an option in the final third as well as in defence.

Jones is being lauded for having a “stellar” campaign in the EFL Championship and is already one of the best players in the league.

He recently signed a new deal so getting him out of the Riverside Stadium is not going to be a cost-efficient affair.

Chris Wilder admires him and will do everything he can to make him stay or ensure that the club is heavily compensated for the player’s services.

However, given the growing interest in the 22-year-old, the chances of West Ham completing his signing appear to be very bleak, as things stand.
