West Ham progressing in talks to sign Nikola Vlasic, his agent confirms
West Ham have been progressing in talks to sign CSKA Moscow attacking midfielder Nikola Vlasic, confirms the 23-year-old’s agent.
Speaking to Maxim Fridman, who is a journalist at Russian media outlet Eurostavka, his agent confirmed for the first time, that his client is in talks with the East London club.
He said, “We are in the process of negotiations with West Ham, they are progressing. But the deal has not been completed yet.”
Rather sign Lingard
Initially it appeared that the Vlasic interest was a smokescreen to get Manchester United to drop their valuation for Jesse Lingard.
However, as days progressed, so did West Ham’s interest in the Croatia international and they now seem very close to signing the attacking midfielder.
Even ExWHUemployee said that there was genuine interest and that the club plan to conduct his medical by tomorrow [Monday].
However, the club may regret not signing Lingard as he’s Premier League proven and a perfect fit for David Moyes’ system.
Vlasic may be decent, but there are no guarantees that he’s going to be a success and knowing Moyes, he likes to prefer the tried and tested options.
Hopefully, the Croatian turns out to be a good signing for the Hammers, but it may be a bit too much to expect him to deliver from day one as Lingard did.
