West Ham priced out of signing Marcus Rashford this summer – report

West Ham manager David Moyes will not be “wasting” any time going after England international Marcus Rashford this summer, according to Claret and Hugh.

The Scot is said to be a “big admirer” of the Manchester United man, but his £375,000 weekly wage makes the deal “impossible” for the Hammers.

United have priced the attacker within the region of £70million with PSG said to be interested, according to the Daily Mail.

Claret & Hugh were told: “Paris Saint-Germain are being touted and it is hardly a surprise with those type of numbers.

“David Moyes knows all about Marcus and the player has also heard great things about him from Jesse Lingard.

“Moysie is tapped into the grapevine but the costs involved in trying to sign him would almost certainly be far beyond West Ham’s finances.”

Mad money

If money wasn’t an object, this would be the perfect move for West Ham.

Much like Jesse Lingard, who did brilliantly at the club, Rashford is a highly experienced player who simply just wants to play football.

He has performed on the highest stages including the World Cup, Champions League, and EUROs to name a few and that is something the Hammers could really use.

Unfortunately, he is way too expensive though and the Irons simply wouldn’t cough up that sort of money for the 24-year-old.

The move is even more unlikely when considering West Ham’s stance on Declan Rice. They will do almost anything in a desperate attempt to keep their star man at the club which is likely to cost them more than they would like to pay which does raise some concern for the summer window.

They will have to find a cheaper alternative if they want to continue to improve year after year. They can’t afford to continue to stand still in the transfer market.
