West Ham predicted to have a strong season by Igor Stimac
West Ham have been predicted to have a strong season by former Croatian international and Irons player Igor Stimac.
Speaking to the Hammers’ official website about the upcoming Europa League campaign and the Dinamo Zagreb game, Stimac revealed his expectations for the Irons.
The 54-year-old made 59 appearances for Croatia and 49 appearances for the Irons and speaks very well on various topics concerning the Hammers.
The ex-Croatia national team manager said: “Obviously, it’s a great achievement [to qualify for the Europa League] after having a fantastic season, and expectations are huge.
“I can see even now, with a good start to the new Premier League season, the team is looking really good and strong, and my expectations are really high when we talk about West Ham this season in the Premier League also, not only in the Europa League.
“Now it seems to be good, going smoothly, the team is getting stronger from season to season and becoming one of the forces in the Premier League also.
“No one likes to play against West Ham United.”
Stimac is expecting big things from the Irons.
It seems as if after the Irons finished sixth last season and qualified for the Europa League, Stimac is expecting big things from his former team.
Certainly, the Irons have started the Premier League well with two wins and two draws, and they should head to Zagreb with plenty of confidence.
However, Dinamo are no mugs and they managed to reach the quarter-finals of the Europa League last season, so this opening game should be a tough test for David Moyes’ men.
However, after a strong end to the transfer window, the Scotsman has plenty of options in various positions, and we hope that the Irons leave Croatia with at least a point.
Clearly, Stimac is anticipating a tough match, and we can see Dinamo being hard opponents, but we are confident the Irons can at least manage a draw tomorrow.
In other West Ham news, a reported West Ham target has discussed the rumours linking him away from his current club.
