West Ham plot major summer contract negotiations for Jarrod Bowen – report

West Ham are plotting summer contract talks with this season’s standout performer Jarrod Bowen and Tomas Soucek according to Evening Standard.

The Hammers are looking to warn of Liverpool who were interested in the 25-year-old in the January transfer window [ECHO].

Bowen still has three and a half years left on his current contract but with only Mo Salah boasting more goals and assists than Bowen in the Premier League, David Sullivan and co are eager to tie the Englishman down for longer.

The Irons are also set to offer midfielder Tomas Soucek a new deal in the summer. A brand new four-and-a-half-year deal is expected to be agreed on at the end of the season for the Czech Republic international.

Smart

With many of West Ham’s players having massive amounts of quality, the likes of which this team have never seen all at once, it is vital to keep hold of as many of them as possible.

It is rare the Irons enjoy a season like they are now and if the club wants to build on it, this is essential business.

West Ham

Bowen has been the best in the league for the past couple of months with Salah away at AFCON, but the pair have been continuously compared all season which is some credit to the 25-year-old.

Tying him down to a new deal means anybody interested in the maestro would have to pay a lot more money which could put Liverpool off making a move completely.

Soucek is another vitally important player that everyone will be hugely relieved to see him commit his future to the Irons.

When he is absent from the midfield it is very noticeable with just how good he has been for the past couple of seasons and with Declan Rice rejecting two contract negations this season, keeping hold of at least one the team’s starting centre-midfielders is essential.

In other Hammers news, West Ham ace Declan Rice is ‘unlikely’ to stay – Glen Johnson.
