West Ham offered chance to sign Lyon attacker Moussa Dembele

West Ham have been offered Lyon attacker Moussa Dembele ahead of the 11pm deadline on January 31, claims ExWHUemployee.

The Hammers look set to end the window without signing a striker, despite wanting one for the last 365 days.

Since Sebastien Haller’s departure, Michail Antonio has been the club’s only out-and-out number nine.

On Twitter, Ex replied to a tweet that suggested signing Dembele from Lyon.

To which he responded, “I think we might have been offered him.”

Bizarre

At this point, anyone that can lead the line is being linked with a move to the Hammers.

There was never any clear plan in place by Rob Newman in case things hit the fan and the club were in no man’s land with two hours to go.

The quest to sign Duje Caleta-Car appeared to be an optimistic one, but that fizzled out despite days of negotiations.

Jesse Lingard always appeared to be a long shot given the fact that Manchester United do not want to deal with top four rivals.

West Ham

Surprisingly, Darwin Nunez emerged as a target in the early hours of deadline day, but the Hammers failed to get that deal over the line as well.

Now, links to Dembele, a player who has been labelled “phenomenal” seem a tad bizzare.

The France youth international was tipped for big things but as yet not made that step up in his career.

While he would’ve been a decent addition, we don’t see this one happening today.
