West Ham offer job to Terzic, ex-Dortmund boss responds

Edin Terzic was asked to take over as West Ham manager, according to BILD.

The German news outlet reported online [6 December] that the Hammers made a “very specific” offer to the ex-Borussia Dortmund boss on Wednesday [4 December].

However, Terzic, who spent time at West Ham as an assistant coach between 2016 and 2017 was not interested in the job on offer at the London Stadium.

It comes as faith fades in Julen Lopetegui, who is under pressure in East London.

Julen Lopetegui to be sacked by West Ham?

Lopetegui has only been in charge at the London Stadium for a matter of months. However, should the Hammers lose against Wolves in the Premier League at the London Stadium on Monday [9 December], the 58-year-old could very well be sacked.

Therefore, it is no surprise to learn that the board at the London Stadium are already considering replacements for their under-fire manager.

In some ways, Terzic could be a fantastic appointment, and his previous time spent with the Hammers could help him to settle in at the club more easily. It seemed initially as though he would be interested in a return [via the back page of the Daily Mail, 5 December].

However, reports in Germany suggest otherwise, which is hardly a surprise considering the position that Lopetegui’s side find themselves in at the moment.

Therefore, the club will need to identify a new potential replacement for Lopetegui should the ex-Wolves and Real Madrid manager be sacked.

In other West Ham news, Sullivan might have already made his mind up on Lopetegui ahead of the clash with Wolves.
