West Ham next manager latest: What we know so far as new Graham Potter replacement emerges

Graham Potter’s time looks to be coming to an end as West Ham eye a replacement manager.

David Sullivan is under pressure to make significant changes at West Ham, with growing frustrations between fans and the hierarchy.

One of those changes could be sacking Potter, whose side haven’t been up to scratch this season, conceding three or more goals in four of their five games.

Here, West Ham Zone rounds up all the latest news regarding Potter’s future in East London.

Lee Hendrie advises Kieran McKenna on ‘big’ West Ham job

Ipswich Town boss Kieran McKenna has been linked with West Ham, and he was there to witness the Hammers’ embarrassing 3-0 defeat against Tottenham.

Floods of supporters left the London Stadium after conceding the third in the 64th minute, and given that the Irons are already looking at a replacement, Potter appears to be on his way out.

McKenna, 39, has impressed for the Tractor Boys, taking them from League One to the Premier League, before going down last season.

However, Sky Sports pundit Lee Hendrie believes the former Manchester United coach shouldn’t jump ship.

Speaking to Football League World, he said: “Last week people are saying he might be under pressure because of results at Ipswich, now he’s being linked with the West Ham job.

“I think this is a big, big job, I really do. I’ve seen managers go in there, Graham Potter’s gone in there thinking that he could do something and turn the club around.

“So, I think this one might be a bit too soon, and I think that West Ham job is a tough one, but it’s Premier League and that’s what entices managers away.”

Slaven Bilic open to West Ham return

Slaven Bilic has been linked with a spectacular return to West Ham, eight years after his previous spell.

The Croatian has gone on to manage games for West Brom and Watford as well as teams in Saudi Arabia since leaving East London.

However, Bilic has yet to last more than one season at each of his clubs, which is a concern for Hammers fans.

However, he was a favourite during his spell with the Irons, before he left on a sour note.

The past wouldn’t affect Bilic, with Jacob Steinberg reporting to The Guardian on 18 September that the ex-West Brom boss would welcome a move back to East London.

Sean Dyche added to shortlist to replace Graham Potter

Experienced manager Sean Dyche is on West Ham’s list of potential replacements for Potter.

It’s reported that Dyche is joined by former Nottingham Forest manager Nuno Espirito Santo in the Hammers’ considerations.

The former Everton boss was dismissed after 19 games last season, with his side floating above the relegation zone.

Dyche has been out of work since, but his direct style of play and ability to get teams out of relegation scraps will cause some indifference between supporters.

David Sullivan identifies Gary O’Neil as another possible Graham Potter replacement

Sullivan appears to be covering all corners by targeting managers with top-flight experience.

Former Wolves boss Gary O’Neil is the latest target for West Ham, as reported by Miguel Delaney via The Telegraph.

He had a two-year playing spell with the Hammers between 2011 and 2013 and helped them to promotion to the Premier League via the play-offs.

West Ham appear to be going down the cheaper route, with O’Neil one of many managers linked with the role who are without a job.
