West Ham news round-up: Injury boost with Guido Rodriguez exit on cards already
West Ham have had a difficult season and although Graham Potter has come in, he will certainly require time to turn things around in East London.
The Hammers sit 10 points above the relegation zone, meaning there shouldn’t be too much stress on being pulled into a Premier League survival battle.
However, with just one win under his belt since his arrival at the London Stadium, Potter will be keen to add to this as soon as possible.
Here, West Ham Zone rounds up all of the latest news from Thursday, 13 February.
Graham Potter receives injury boost
Although getting knocked out of the FA Cup wasn’t the plan, not having a game at the weekend has allowed the Hammers to take a break ahead of their clash against Brentford on Saturday (15 February).
This prolonged gap between games seems to have had a positive impact too as Potter is set to be boosted by players returning for the game.
The Sun reports (13 February, page 45) that Jean-Clair Todibo is nearing a return from injury.
In addition to this, Lucas Paqueta and Edson Alvarez are expected to be ready against the Bees after missing the defeat against Chelsea which is exactly the news the boss would have hoped for.

West Ham open talks to sign attacker
It’s no surprise to see that Potter already has his sights set on the summer transfer window with several areas needing strengthening.
With this in mind, TBR has reported (13 February) that the Hammers have opened talks with the party of Malaga winger Antonio Cordero.
However, Newcastle are said to be leading the pack to sign him with Arsenal, Tottenham, Aston Villa, Brighton and Nottingham Forest also having been in conversations about a move.
There has also been Spanish interest in the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid.
Guido Rodriguez could be set for West Ham exit
Although he arrived in East London on a free transfer in the summer transfer window, Guido Rodriguez’s time at West Ham certainly hasn’t gone to plan so far.
The midfielder has made 19 appearances in the Premier League this term, failing to show any real quality in Claret and Blue.
With this in mind, it’s no surprise that an exit from The London Stadium is already on the cards.
According to Orgullo Biri, Rodriguez could be set for a return to Real Betis, who have named their former man a top target for the summer transfer window.
Reportedly, a £2.5million fee could be on the table to secure his services permanently although the La Liga club’s financial situation could make negotiations difficult.
