West Ham news round-up: Axel Disasi’s thoughts on switch revealed as icon returns
West Ham are continuing to deal with rumblings from the recently closed transfer window.
The summer market came to a close at the London Stadium with Igor Julio joining West Ham from Brighton on deadline day.
This was the final piece of business by Graham Potter’s side after West Ham previously brought in Soungoutou Magassa from Monaco.
Things could have been different for the Irons as Axel Disasi was linked with a move to East London, but failed to make the switch from Chelsea.
The Frenchman has since spoken out at Stamford Bridge, as West Ham Zone rounds up the latest news surrounding the Irons on 10 September.

Andy Irving shows quality at West Ham
It is fair to say that the midfield area is something that the E20 club had the biggest concern about throughout the summer.
This was improved by multiple summer signings, although Potter may have had an ideal option already available in Irving.
The Scot has proved exactly why that would be the case with Irving speaking out on his desire to play for West Ham whenever and wherever he is required.
Speaking via the official West Ham website on 10 September, he said: “It can be tough [not starting games], and I think there are periods that you go through when it can be difficult.
“Every day you’re going out to training with the focus on the weekend. You’re working towards the game, and everyone wants to play.
“I’ll always do my best for the team anytime I’m given the opportunity, and I’ll give it my all and show what I can do like I did against Nottingham Forest.
“I’m motivated, and I’m determined to do well, and anytime I get the opportunity, I’ll be there, and I’ll be ready.”

Axel Disasi shares transfer preference after summer snub
The Frenchman opted against joining the Hammers in the latter stages of the window, but never found a move elsewhere in the end.
Despite being part of Chelsea’s bomb squad, the centre-back has ultimately stuck around at Stamford Bridge to hold out for a dream switch.
This has seen Disasi share his desire to join Monaco over West Ham in an interview with online French outlet Carre on 9 September.
He said: “Between the approaches from Bournemouth and West Ham, Monaco came along, and it deeply touched me.
“I spent three incredible years in Monaco. Upon their arrival, all the memories came flooding back.
“Monaco is home to me. I was hoping Chelsea would find a solution to let me go out on loan. I insisted right up to the last minute to go to Monaco.”
Lukasz Fabianski could replicate Scott Carson at West Ham
Having parted ways with Wes Foderingham after the end of the window, there was a desperate need for a new third-choice keeper in E20.
This has seen the Irons call on Fabianski, despite his departure at the end of last season after his contract was seen out at the London Stadium.
After his return, Potter pointed towards Fabianski replicating Carson, who represented a huge voice in the Manchester City dressing room despite playing just two games in six years.
The Hammers’ head coach said: “We are really pleased to have Lukasz back with the group. Regardless of him being here previously, the main factor is that he is still a top goalkeeper and a top professional, and the perfect choice for the role we needed to fill.
“It’s a signing that makes perfect sense for everyone. Lukasz knows the Club extremely well, is very well respected and popular among everyone here.
“His personality and character will be a great example, especially to our younger players, and he is someone who really cares about West Ham United and wants to help us in any way he can. We are very happy to have him back with us.”
