West Ham news round-up: Alan Shearer reacts to ‘mess’ as Mohammed Kudus footage emerges
West Ham slumped to yet another dismal defeat at the London Stadium as they lost 3-0 to Tottenham at the weekend.
West Ham fans have called for Potter to be sacked as the East London club have conceded 11 goals in their opening four Premier League matches.
Nuno Espirito Santo has been linked with the West Ham job, and Potter will need to improve quickly if he does not want to become the next managerial casualty in the Premier League.
West Ham Zone has rounded up the latest West Ham news off the back of Saturday’s disastrous defeat to Spurs.

Edson Alvarez speaks out on West Ham exit
Alvarez joined Fenerbahce on loan in the summer, with fans happy to see the unsuccessful midfielder leave.
Alvarez spent two years at West Ham, making 73 appearances across both seasons.
Speaking to Fox Sports Mexico, he said: “Obviously, it was a very difficult decision to know that I was leaving the Premier League. In the end, I made the decision mainly for myself, because in the end, this is my career, it’s my story.”
Fans will be happy to see a younger midfielder join the club, with Soungoutou Magassa set to be his replacement in the side.

Ally McCoist and Jeff Stelling critical over Graham Potter’s tactics vs Spurs
Speaking live on talkSPORT on 15 September, Stelling criticised the use of Lucas Paqueta in the false nine role.
Stelling said: “Dare I say Paqueta didn’t look awfully keen at playing in that false nine.”
McCoist responded: “I think that only works if you get away with it. You run the risk playing Paqueta in a false nine, you’ve got boys in wide areas who will look up, and there’s nothing in the box.”
The injury Niclas Fullkrug sustained during the international break has left West Ham light up front, but it was still strange to see proven goalscorer Callum Wilson on the bench, despite his brilliant performance against Nottingham Forest.
Mohammed Kudus embraces Graham Potter ahead of West Ham vs Spurs
Kudus has made it clear he holds no resentment towards West Ham, having left to join Spurs in the summer.
Footage has now emerged from before the match with Spurs as he gave Potter a hug, before going over to Lucas Paqueta and catching up with his former teammate.
It might not have gone down so well with the fans, who perhaps thought that Paqueta and Potter didn’t understand the rivalry between West Ham and Spurs.
- Kudus joins West Ham from Ajax in 2023
- Scores 19 goals for West Ham across two seasons
- Joins Tottenham for £55m in the summer transfer window

Alan Shearer claims West Ham are difficult to manage
Shearer claimed West Ham are a tough club to manage when speaking on The Rest Is Football podcast on 15 September.
Shearer said: “It’s a mess. It looks from the outside like it’s a difficult club to manage in what you have or what comes in.”
West Ham are 18th in the league and have already been knocked out of the EFL Cup.
As Potter moves closer to the sack, whoever will become the next manager of West Ham will have an awfully tough job on their hands.
