West Ham news: Injured player spotted training ahead of game v Brentford
West Ham could be closer to full strength ready for the clash against Brentford on Saturday.
The Hammers have struggled with various injury concerns in recent weeks with Lucas Paqueta absent from the Chelsea defeat.
On the flip side, Jarrod Bowen was able to make a goalscoring return at Stamford Bridge, which was certainly a boost.
Graham Potter could be set to welcome another first-team ace back to the side as the Bees travel to the London Stadium on 15 February.
Jean-Clair Todibo spotted in West Ham training before Brentford clash
The Irons started the clash against Enzo Maresca’s side with just one recognised centre-back as Max Kilman featured alongside Vladimir Coufal and Aaron Cresswell.
Konstantinos Mavropanos came off the bench and ultimately frustrated the away fans with a wild shot from long range, which flew over the bar.
As a result, it will be music to the Hammers fans’ ears to hear that Todibo has made a return to training ahead of the clash in East London.
Taking to X on 12 February, the Frenchman said: “Back to training with the team. Come on!”
This could see the 25-year-old feature in the back line for the first time since early January after a tough campaign since signing from Nice in the summer.
West Ham will welcome Jean-Clair Todibo back with open arms
The former Barcelona defender was highly rated when he came in at the London Stadium and was met with plenty of expectation.
The centre-back hasn’t quite reached the hype of his signing due to injury which have ruled him out for stretches of the campaign, reducing him to just eight starts in the Premier League.
This has resulted in Todibo being linked with a switch to Marseille during the winter but no deal was done, potentially showing how important he could be in E20.
After his latest injury setback, there can be hope that he could return against Brentford and maintain a regular spot in the starting 11 in East London.
This could come as a blow to Mavropanos who is likely to see his minutes fall away as the summer signing takes his place in the side.
