West Ham new manager signs contract to replace Graham Potter in latest Rush Green act of betrayal
West Ham United have finally pulled the plug on the Graham Potter experiment.
Potter has been sacked by West Ham after just 25 games in charge at the London Stadium, after a string of poor performances to start the new season.
The killer blow for Potter was West Ham’s 2-1 defeat to Crystal Palace, which saw West Ham fans protesting outside the London Stadium before kick-off.
The timing of the sacking is bizarre, with West Ham set to travel to Everton on Monday night, having given Potter the whole week for training and media duties.
Now details have emerged on his replacement, and the treatment of the former Chelsea boss has been disgraceful.

Nuno Espirito Santo has signed contract at West Ham
Nuno Espirito Santo is set to become the new West Ham United manager.
Fabrizio Romano reported via X on Saturday that Nuno has signed his contract at the London Stadium and will take his first training session later the same day.
The fact that Potter was at Rush Green earlier the same day is the latest act of betrayal, with the Hammers board not even waiting for the proverbial body to cool.
There were reports that David Sullivan added the Portuguese manager to his shortlist should he decide to sack Potter, and it looks as though that has come to fruition.
Nottingham Forest very harshly sacked Nuno in August after a disagreement with owner Evangelos Marinakis, despite the former Wolves boss guiding the side back into Europe after years of flirting with relegation.
Graham Potter needed to go but this treatment is cruel
Potter was never going to survive the season, as the form the Hammers were on was only going to send them hurtling towards the Championship.
However, the timing and the way West Ham have sacked him have been an utter disgrace, as the Englishman was forced to endure an awkward press conference ahead of the Everton game when he knew he was getting sacked.
Graham Potter at West Ham United | Records at respective clubs | Nuno Espirito Santo at Nottingham Forest |
6 | Wins | 26 |
5 | Draws | 19 |
14 | Losses | 22 |
24% | Win ratio | 38.8% |
But that won’t be much of a surprise to fans of the Hammers, who have endured circus-like antics from David Sullivan and co. for years, and its more of a shock that this mismanagement hasn’t led to relegation yet.
Nuno will be an excellent appointment at the London Stadium after his tremendous work at both Wolves and Forest, but he needs to be backed correctly to concede, and that is not guaranteed in East London.
