West Ham must join race to sign Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek

West Ham must join Inter Milan in the race to sign Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek in the summer transfer window.

According to Italian outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport, the midfielder has been offered to the Serie A giants.

Inter are exploring the opportunity to sign the midfielder, who has a contract until 2024.

Chelsea have set an asking price of around €20m (£17m) for Loftus-Cheek, and Inter are reluctant to meet the amount.

The news should alert West Ham, and David Moyes should prepare making a move for the talented midfielder.

The Daily Mail reported on 18 April that West Ham are one of the clubs vying for his signature. AS Roma and Everton were also interested.

However, it seems Inter may be leading the race at the moment, but they are nowhere close to securing the move.

There’s still a window of opportunity for the Hammers to make a concrete move for the midfielder, who won the Premier League title with Chelsea in 2016-17.

The Hammers need to sign a central midfielder this summer. Mark Noble has retired from the game, while Alex Kral will return to Spartak Moscow after an underwhelming loan spell at the London Stadium.

A dynamic box-to-box midfielder would be ideal, and Loftus-Cheek fits the bill.

At 26, he needs to play regularly, and take his game to the next level. The amount quoted for him is also within the club’s budget.

Considering his age, experience, and transfer value, he seems perfect for the Hammers.
