West Ham make enquiry to sign Sevilla attacker Lucas Ocampos
West Ham reportedly sent an enquiry to Sevilla about the availability of attacker Lucas Ocampos this summer.
According to Spanish media outlet Super Deporte, the La Liga side have responded and asked the Hammers to pay his release clause.
They’re planning to offer him a new deal and increase his clause to a fee in the region of £58million and £75million.

Avoid at all costs
There is no way Hammers will be shelling out that kind of money to sign Ocampos this summer.
He may have been a regular for Sevilla and taken them to within touching distance of the summit, but the Premier League is an entirely different ball game.
Since the turn of the year, his form has hit new heights so this seems like an attempt from his representatives to drive up interest in his services.
There’s a good chance that he extends at Sevilla as the Hammers will not even be able to offer him Champions League football.

The Argentine is also 27 already and may only have a handful of seasons at his very best left.
He clearly isn’t worth the risk for Hammers to break their transfer record and they should look for cheaper and younger alternatives once the window opens.
In other West Ham news, the Hammers have scouted a £20m-rated ‘Dangerous’ British striker and want to seal a permanent move this summer.
