West Ham likely to miss out on Ainsley Maitland-Niles
West Ham are likely to miss out on Ainsley Maitland-Niles in the January transfer window.
Earlier this week, ExWHUemployee claimed that (27 December) that the Hammers are interested in signing him on loan in January.
However, the Hammers are likely to miss out on the 24-year-old midfielder, with 90 min reporting that AS Roma are working hard to complete his signature.

Maitland-Niles has made only a handful of appearances at the club and he is out of favour at the Emirates Stadium.
Mikel Arteta doesn’t want to stand in his way if he wants to move on. The report adds that personal terms with the player have been agreed while the two clubs are close to reaching a loan deal that includes signing the player permanently as well.

Maitland-Niles would have been a fantastic signing for the Hammers on loan in January. He is a versatile player who can play as a central midfielder, as a right-back and also on the wings.
David Moyes would be willing to add new players to his squad in January. Signing a striker and a centre-back is a top priority, but Moyes is unsure whether he would be able to lure the players he wants.
As it stands, West Ham are set to miss out on Maitland-Niles, unless the Hammers make a dramatic late move and hijack the deal.
In other West Ham news, these Hammers have been selected in a BBC pundit’s Team of the Year.
