West Ham keeper Fabianski honoured to be a part of club’s development
West Ham goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski is honoured to be a part of the club’s recent development after signing new one-year deal.
The 37-year-old’s new deal was announced by the Hammers on Wednesday (6 July) with the ex-Arsenal goalkeeper extending his stay until the summer of 2023.
The Polish shot-stopper has also stated that he is delighted to stay at the club and excited for the future.
Speaking to West Ham’s official website, Fabianski said: “I’m obviously pleased and very happy that I can stay for one more year, so I’m excited about it.
“I can see how much attention this club draws when it comes to interacting with the fans or the way it’s being presented in the media.
“I think there’s a lot of interest into the club, so it feels like this club is one of the bigger ones in the country, so I’m just honoured and proud to be part of this club for a few years now.
“The way the club has developed and started to reach its potential, it’s been really nice to be part of it.”
Another year for Fabianski
This new contract sees the keeper enter his fifth season with the club, and there is an option of a further year in the deal.
Fabianski has played 137 times for the Hammers with 34 clean sheets during this time.

He moved to West Ham after four years at Swansea, his last of which where he won the club’s player of the season award despite the club being relegated.
He has become a mainstay in the first XI for the London club and limited Alphonse Areola to just 17 appearances last term.
He has established himself as a reliable Premier League keeper and dressing room presence while consistently providing strong performances in the West Ham goal.
